Relaxation Music – Loosen Up And Let Go!

Relaxation Music can comfort the soul if you let it in. Relaxation Music can only be thoroughly enjoyed if you loosen up and let go. Although relaxation music will help you relax, you need to really find pleasure in the moment to appreciate the experience.

When you loosen up and let go you’re able to breathe and have the time to experience the longevity and vibrancy of life.

Let me explain.

You may want to loosen up and let go but something stops you.

Working as a volunteer, I educate relaxation by the bedside to heart, stroke and cancer patients in hospitals.

I noticed that there was a myth that was stopping people from loosening up and letting go. The myth is that relaxation music is from the outside.

Here’s an example of what I mean.

One older gentleman who had had a stroke told me that in the past (when he has been much younger ) he had found relaxation by pleasing his dad. This desire made him forsake his own family members because to please his dad, he has been always attempting to differ the world. Changing the world meant that he got his dad’s approval.

When his dad finally acknowledged his quest (giving him a pat on the back) he felt relaxed. Now following having a stroke at the age of 67 he’s decided it has been time to spend some time with his own family.

It took a stroke for this gentleman to become aware that his relaxation music has been within him. He is now more aware of the need to breathe and have time to experience the longevity and vibrancy of life.

Relaxation Music is part of your environment (Classical music, the a lot of sounds of nature and your favorite music). It’s a part of you.

One exercise you could contemplate would be to decide to allow relaxation music in on a daily basis. When you decide to loosen up and let go so that relaxation music could come into you, you’ll additionally offer the music within you a chance to play with music of a similar resonance. This resonance will now allow you to breathe and have time to experience the longevity and vibrancy of life.

In conclusion -

Relaxation music is always available. However, your busy lifestyle, combined with the myth that relaxation music is from the outside, make it near impossible to loosen up and let go.

If you were to contemplate letting in relaxation music whenever you notice the feeling of the sounds on a daily basis, then you will find it easier to loosen up, let go, breathe and have time to experience the longevity and vibrancy of life.

Live Music Is Not Dead

Around the pubs and clubs in the UK there are still many bands playing for only a few pounds to demanding listenerss who concurrently request Chuck Berry and the Arctic Monkeys. Keeping all these different individuals in the listeners happy is never easy, but not impossible either. With nice stage craft and clever of songs at a particular Venue, a nice performer may make everyone happy.

The organization of these artists is extraordinary. They must find like minded musicians that are committed. Then they must find somewhere to practice. This is not simple as the majority cannot do this at home. If you’re fortunate to have a house large enough, it is un like ly you may get round the neighbours, as it is so loud! It cannot be turned down as everything must be as loud as the drums. A band often hires a room to practice, at great fee to themselves.

A band must likewise spend literally thousands on equipment. PA, lighting, guitars, drums etc.

The next hurdle is transport. For some reason the majority drummers can’t drive! Cars are again and again inadequate as you would need a fleet of about 5 for your gig, substantially expensive on the fuel, and impractical. Virtually all performers have to hire or buy a van, again at great fee to themselves.

When they have finally rehearsed all there material over weeks or months, they are ready to play live. It’s an exhilarating day, one of wonder, excitement and slight fear. You turn up to the Club to find one man and his dog. And that man is particularly drunk, wants to be your manager, and giving you all the worth of his ‘wisdom’ in the music game! The landlord is furthermore drunk, and you can’t work out if he likes you or not.

You get poorly paid, if you get paid at all, and return home often out of pocket.

However the real rock heroes come back for more. They find the best Venues, secure a reputation, and performance at some great places. Sure they still have bad shows, but the good ones make up for it. They make it look so simple, but it is not. One such band can be seen at http – //www.thehalfmonty.tk

The Half Monty have had there share of ups and downs. They have been ripped of at gigs, played in the most dodgy Venues, and heckled to death. But they’re still here, bigger and better than ever having learnt from their early days.

So remember, when you see a Local/Regional performer advertised at a pub or venue, go see them and guide them. It is not easy for the lads and lasses. Perhaps buy them a beer after the gig if you really enjoyed it. , for these are the true heroes of rock.

Rap Music For The Younger Generation

The annals of rap music wouldn’t be complete without a look at the performers who make it all possible – the rap performers. Many rap music typically includes one or more rappers who regularly rap about their own personal life stories, vital gatherings in their lives, or social problems they wish to make a public statement about. Rap tunes can furthermore represent romanticized or fictional themes. The sky is the limit. Musically, rap tunes regularly have a strong rhythmic aspect with the spoken lyrics emulating the intense rhythm of the beat. Rap tunes are known to make use of a lot of poetic techniques including easy word rhymes and alliteration.

The story of rap music furthermore shows that the instrumental track or beat performed by the DJ ofttimes includes the rhythms and beat “samplings” from popular and/or well-known funk, rock, or soul tunes. The sampled sounds and rhythms are synthesized, integrated, and reinvented with original twists by the performers.

Two other highly popular facets of rap music that saw their accelerated growth into the American mainstream are break dancing and tagging (graffiti). Break dancers and taggers are now stars in their personal right with loyal followers and listeners throughout the world. Annual break dancing competitions are now particularly popular even in countries throughout Europe and Asia. The story of rap music can be considered relatively new, yet it is clear ly a convincing influence in today’s music world. Obviously,  the musical influence of NY City African American and Latino culture is now as pervasive globally as fast food hamburger chains.

Music For The Stars!

Alan Cohen author of, ” Chicken Soup For The Soul,” and other inspirational books said that in his work, “Lifestyles Of The Rich In Spirit.”

A prominent political figure from a Muslin nation visited one our University recently to speak and answer questions, and I watched the president of that institution challenge him and attack him verbally. There has been no peace in the words he used to describe his guest, he’d his mind made up that this man represented the enemy and a war of words has been in order. It has been clear to anyone that this man and his country were works of the devil and it has been our duty to eliminate him 1st by dehumanizing him, and then by threats of war.

The guest answered the questions as optimum he might ; he knew that the majority of the fans would not accept his words, but he tried to explain his country’s position on several topics that struck fear in the hearts of Americans; but our thoughts had already established that this man has been a person to hate. He on the other hand, stood his ground firmly and explained his position as obvious ly as he might given the atmosphere of feelings that surrounded him. He did not claim to hate or want to destroy us, he said he wanted to be our friend; he said that his religion has been a peaceful one and that his country wanted to live by their beliefs in the absence of interference from other nations. He saw the conflict in Iraq as a senseless attempt to control something that has been not under our control; it had been in existence for centuries before all of us were born as a country and always found a way to resolve its own issues. In the mist of all the anger and resentment he found himself in, he maintain his composure and expressed his feelings about how all of us had created the situations all of us found ourselves involved in, and that all of us were the ones that are forcing other nations to conform unconditionally.

The real issue is not about this man and his country; it is about each one of us. As Alan said, we must find the peace in our hearts in order to heal our separation. If we are motivated by fear, anger, and hatred, that’s what we will manifest; the face of this man was that manifestation.

We do not practice what all of us preach in church each Sunday, all of us do not follow the teachings of Christ if all of us attack and fight in order to control. Destroying never brings repair ing, but forgiveness does. Through all the years of fighting all of us still do not get the idea of unity; all of us still put ourselves up on a higher plane of existence; all of us are disconnected from our source and do hardly anything but fight in order to reconnect; years of conditioning has made us what all of us are, a group of wanderers looking for redemption in all the wrong ways. It’s us against everything else, when in fact there is hardly anything else; what all of us see is a mirror, there for us to remember who all of us really are.

Alan said something else in his book, ” The the majority significant contribution you and I could make toward world peace is to be peaceful ourselves, to give peacefulness to those whose lives all of us touch daily, and to forgive ourselves for our errors, to the point at which all of us love ourselves no matter what all of us have ever done.”

Now is the time for that forgiveness; now is the time to reunite within myself, to be the spirit that expresses the love that fills my heart. I may differ and will differ in order to be at peace; I ask for advocate from my source and it is given; I ask for love to fill my body and it is given; I ask to share that love with all life and it is given.

Internet Music – Blessing or Curse?

I just learned that April 19, 2008 has been Record Store Day, an opportunity to celebrate independent record stores. As record stores slowly vanish across the country, it is revealing that April 19 came and went with little fanfare. Perhaps, like me, the gathering has been invisible to you, too. And I’m sorry I missed it, because I worth the place of music stores in our culture. But it got me thinking about how music is accessed and sold these days.

I’m not fond of vinyl — I do not miss the pops and clicks, or the way that dust balls would build up in front of the needle and cause the sound to crackle – but those large album sleeves allowed for some nice ly inventive packaging back in the day that can’t be done with compact disc s. I recall the surprise of opening  Alice Cooper’s School’s Out. The cover has been the surface of one of those old grammar school desks and lifted up like the lid of the desk to reveal the interior. The record has been nested inside a slinky pair of pink girl’s paper panties, which you had to slip off to play the record. Then there has been Jethro Tull’s Thick As A Brick, packaged with a fictional small town paper, “The St. Cleve Chronicle.” It has been a crafty satire of a provincial newspaper replete with articles, television listings, advertisements, a crossword — even a lascivious connect-the-dots puzzle — all oozing with irony. It read like a novel, with the same characters reappearing in different sections.

The Web offers a amazing way to discover, sample and purchase music, no doubt about it. It’s a amazing improvement over the experience most of us have had of purchasing a new CD  and finding out you only like two of the ten tunes. And the Web has really better the opening  for independent performers to reach a wide r fans than ever before. But in making snap judgments after listening to a snippet of music On-line, we furthermore lose the ability of tunes to grow on us. We’re like kids dazzled by neon crayons, and we risk passing over subtler but richer hues. There is the danger that music becomes less about artistry and more about commodity.

Another problem is the reduce d audio quality of MP3s, a digital format whereby much of the original audio signal is discarded in order to compress the file size and facilitate digital storage, downloading and other transfers. We have sacrificed quality for convenience. I confess, though, I love being able to shuffle songs on my iPod. The unpredictability keeps the music fresh for me. But it’s not in the absence of a price.

As all of us increasingly rely on downloadable music, I worry about what all of us lose. I still prefer the experience of going to record stores -  the physicality of the merchandise, the role of occasion and being exposed to something accidentally. Erykah Badu has a marvelous music video of the song “Honey” from her recently released album. an anonymous customer (actually Erykah, but her face is never shown) browses vinyl in a record store, and divergent classic album covers come alive with images of Erykah. It’s a witty video that captures the magic of the experience. The video ends with a message scrolling across the bottom of the screen -  “Support your Local record store!!!!!” I couldn’t have said it better.

The Growth of Country Music

Country music originated from the old folk music that the pioneers sang and played as they  set tled across the country. They used wagon trains. That’s where a group of individuals drive their wagons across the country is a single file trying to go further west. At night they would party and the ones that can performance fiddles, banjo, and guitars, would performance and make up tunes about their experiences on the trail.

Then came along individuals like the Carter family members and Jimmy Rodgers (the singing brakeman) and they came up with a newer style of country tunes. Nonetheless everything has been acoustical, no electrical instruments. When wannabe singers heard Jimmy Rodgers, they all wanted to sing like him. His singing had confidence and you could hear it.

The Grand ole Opry started broad casting in 1925. This let millions of individuals hear folk and country music all across the country. The Louisiana Hayride started in 1948 and many singers got their start there. These radio shows made many young kids want to sing, and many them did come on and make stars, each bringing a new style to country music. Recording organizations then did not want you to sound like somebody else, they want your sound. If they like d it you got a contract.

When Hank Williams was on the hayride, I had a nice friend playing for the hayride. He was playing when Hank had seven encores for lovesick blues. Then everybody wanted to sound like Hank Williams. Hank was top dog, then came Elvis to knock him off the mountain. Of course Hank had died before Elvis made it. Nonetheless Hank was on top following his death.

Every year country progresses to something new. However there’s many individuals that don’t progress with it. A lot still like the old traditional type of country. That is what makes the world go around.

Some Words on Soul Music

Soul is still a unusually popular music genre which grew out of 50’s rhythm and blues. There were two unusually diffined record labels which dominated this era, Stax and Tamala Motown.

The record label Stax started life in Memphis in 1959, founded by Jim Stewart and Estelle Axton. Around the same time Berry Gordy has been creating the two record labels, Tamla and Motown in Detroit. Stax and Tamla Motown became the biggest of rivals for record sales throughout the 1960’s and 70’s. Their music idiom has been the same, with a focus on the Black music form soul, but marketing and style differed meaningful ly.

Motown took the music market by storm at a time when white listenerss were ignoring many black music forms. Their success was attributed to their light soul style with their image being aimed at the middle class market. Producing hits such as ‘Stop! In the name of love’ by the Supremes, released in 1965, and ‘Heard it through the grapevine’ by Marvin Gaye, released in 1968. artists such as the Supremes, the Four Tops and Marvin Gaye developed a clean-cut image, appearing on record sleeves and in concert wearing formal clothes such as tuxedos and evening dresses.

Stax records concentrated more on the original form of Black American Southern soul. For Stax records the original music form has been more important than image and marketing. musicians and songs included ‘In the midnight hour’ by Wilson Pickett, released in 1965, and ‘Sittin’ on the dock of the bay’ by Otis Redding, released in 1968.

Soul music has stayed one of the most popular music styles right through into the 21st century mainly due to the wonderfully reason in the title, the music gets into your ‘soul’. A wonderful choice for both young and old!

Music, Culture, and Reality

A psychoactive is defined as that which has a profound or significant affect on the mental processes. Although typically used in the context of drugs and substances, this concept is a number of times extended to anything evoking a superficially ‘mystical experience.’ What people describe as mystical experiences are indistinguishable, neuro sensibly and empirically, from deep and poignant religious experiences. Moments of oneness and insight are typical in both cases. In “The Varieties of Religious Experience (1902),” William James describes mystical experiences as ineffable, noetic, passive (rather, a sense of loss of control), and fleeting. From the remote mystics of Sufism and Kabbalah, to modern day ‘urban shamans,’ psychonauts have sought methods other than imbibement to investigate the cosmos within. Through meditation, breath control, lucid dreaming, sensory deprivation, and a host of other methods, music has stood among cultures in this service might since early man first danced around campfires.

Ethnomusicolgist Gilbert Rouget explores the connection between music and trance throughout history. Perhaps music is more than simply a mortal construct, rather having cosmic significance. Playing music (and truly appreciating music) forces an individual to focus on the present moment, which in turn is the cornerstone of meaningful experience. This emphasis on the present moment is the consummation of all other psychonautical sources (mediation, entheogens, etc.). Subscribers of the shamanic and mystical oftentimes view the passage of time as an illusion of the human mind, and regard a ‘perpetual now’ as true reality. Interestingly this is where science begins to align with the esoteric.

Quantum Mechanics argues that particles move backwards as well as forwards in time and appear in all possible places at once. String theory proposes that the physical world is composed of little, tiny strings of vibrating energy (It seems appropriate to allude to chordophones). Terrence McKenna, recounting a DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) induced experience, asserts that the never ending dance of ‘machine elves,’ (entities occupying a parallel world) establishes reality as all of us perceive it. Are the rhythms of music akin to the language of reality? Is music a method of staying in contact with the underlying ‘Logos,’ being the true virtue in which all things exist? Whether it be Spring’s hymn of birds and bees or the elegant, geometrical dance of our physical world, music plays the universal tongue in a reality superficially ripe with babbling discord.
